Entrepreneurship Seminar Conducted in Kunduz Province
The Entrepreneurship Seminar was organized by the Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO) in collaboration with Salam University in Kunduz Province. The event brought together university leaders, faculty members, students, young entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in entrepreneurship and economic development.
The seminar was held as part of the series of scientific and practical programs on entrepreneurship, economic development, social welfare, and poverty reduction in Afghanistan. The primary objective of the event was to promote entrepreneurial thinking, encourage innovation among youth, and introduce practical pathways for economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by opening remarks delivered by the event moderator. Distinguished speakers highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in Afghanistan’s economic future and emphasized the role of educational institutions in developing entrepreneurial knowledge and skills among young people.
During the first session, representatives of Salam University and AELSO discussed the role of higher education institutions in fostering entrepreneurship and presented AELSO’s vision, achievements, and future plans for supporting entrepreneurship initiatives across Afghanistan.
The second session featured specialized presentations on entrepreneurship requirements, business development, and opportunities available through the Entrepreneurship Camp 2026. Participants were introduced to key entrepreneurial competencies, methods for identifying business opportunities, and strategies for competing successfully in entrepreneurship programs and startup initiatives. The session also emphasized the importance of innovation, leadership, and practical problem-solving skills in building sustainable enterprises.
A notable component of the seminar was the interactive “Ideas and Questions” segment, where participants shared their perspectives on entrepreneurial opportunities in Kunduz Province. Discussions highlighted opportunities in agriculture, agribusiness, trade, small-scale manufacturing, information technology, education, and service industries. This interactive session encouraged active participation and enabled attendees to exchange ideas and experiences regarding local economic development.
Participants described the seminar as a valuable learning opportunity that enhanced their understanding of entrepreneurship and inspired them to explore innovative business ventures. Many attendees emphasized that such programs contribute significantly to strengthening self-confidence, expanding professional networks, and encouraging youth engagement in economic activities.
The seminar concluded with a summary of key discussions by the Academic Vice Chancellor of Salam University. AELSO’s leadership team also presented books to the university leadership as a gesture of academic cooperation and appreciation. Certificates of participation were distributed to attendees, followed by a networking session that provided an opportunity for further interaction and collaboration among participants.
The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to expanding entrepreneurship education and awareness programs throughout Afghanistan. They emphasized that promoting entrepreneurship can play a critical role in empowering youth, creating sustainable employment opportunities, reducing poverty, and supporting long-term economic development and social welfare across the country.
