Book launch event of “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book

The Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO), with the support of Institute for Economic Affairs and Network for a Free Society, is honoured to translate and publish the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book which is a valuable and international piece of Dr. Eammon Butler, president of Adam Smith Institute, for the first time in Dari language in Afghanistan.
The “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book launched and introduced to thinkers and interested people with the collaboration of Khan-e-Noor Institute of Higher Education and presence of leadership board of both organizations, as well as youth, students, university professors and researchers.
The speakers of the event, shared their views and ideas about the content of the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book, its impact in current situation of Afghanistan, its role in improving the quality of the country’s educational curriculum, academic understanding of economic inequality concept, creating a new narrative about this concept and how to choose the path to improve the economic situation of the society and prosperity of Afghan people.
At the beginning of the event, Mohammad Hanif Farzan, Chairman of AELSO, talked about the plans and programs of this organization in translating and publishing the international pieces of different scholars and authors around the world and encouraged youth to read and use from these academic sources.
Following him, M. Jawid Sahil, Chancellor of Khan-e-Noor Institute of Higher Education, shared his perspective on “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book in promoting practical knowledge for prosperity of Afghan people and added: “Due to the content of the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book; this book can provide accurate economic knowledge as well as effective source for university students and youth of Afghanistan.”
Abdul Qaher Beheshti, General Programs Director of AELSO, evaluated the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book in understanding the principles of economic inequality and emphasized: “The “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book critically examines the discourse surrounding the concept of inequality in an academic manner and presents a new narrative on this concept. I personally believe that using from the content of this book will help Afghan people to learn about economic inequalities, reconsider their knowledge about economic inequality and develop their own economic initiatives and plans.”
As another speaker of the event, Hujatullah Mirzaei, Academic Vice Chancellor of Khan-e-Noor Institute of Higher Education, shared his ideas about the importance of using from content of the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book in universities curriculum and requested the caretaker government to facilitate the process of replacing the outdated curriculum with the update materials such as the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book for students around the country.”
As last speaker of the event, Dr. Abdul Azeem Mohmand, member of leadership board of AELSO, summarized the event and addressed the youth to take the best advantage of “inequality” as challenge and turn it into an opportunity in economic development of the country.
In this book discussion event, the leadership board of AELSO, the leadership board Khan-e-Noor Institute of Higher Education, and executive officer of both organizations, donated the “An Introduction to Economic Inequality” book to all participants in order to expand the knowledge of economic development and strengthen the effective ideas to reach a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.
