The Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO), in collaboration with Pamir University, successfully organized the Entrepreneurship Seminar in Khost Province, bringing together university leaders, academics, and young people to explore the role of entrepreneurship in promoting economic development, social welfare, and poverty reduction in Afghanistan.

The seminar provided an academic and practical platform for participants to discuss entrepreneurship, identify local business opportunities, and encourage young people to transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.

During the keynote session, Professor Sayed Karim Shah Nekmal, Chancellor of Pamir University, presented the university’s vision and academic initiatives to strengthen entrepreneurship and social prosperity. He emphasized that universities should play an active role in equipping students with practical skills, innovative thinking, and leadership qualities needed to contribute to Afghanistan’s economic future.

Mohammad Hanif Farzan, President of AELSO, introduced the organization’s mission and ongoing initiatives to promote entrepreneurship across Afghanistan. He highlighted AELSO’s commitment to empowering young people through practical education, research, and capacity-building programs that foster innovation and job creation.

The seminar also featured technical presentations. Abdul Qaher Beheshti, Head of Research and Programs at AELSO, delivered a presentation on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, its key requirements, practical steps for starting a business, and opportunities available through the Entrepreneurship Camp. Participants also learned about the economic and social impacts of entrepreneurship in Afghanistan through a presentation delivered by the Vice Chancellor of Pamir University.

One of the most engaging parts of the seminar was the Youth Ideas Session, where participants shared their perspectives on small business opportunities in Khost Province. The interactive discussion encouraged students to exchange ideas, identify local market needs, and explore innovative solutions for community development.

The program concluded with a summary of the key discussions, followed by the presentation of books to the leadership of Pamir University as a token of appreciation for their partnership. Certificates of participation were then awarded to attendees before the event concluded with networking and refreshments.

Reflecting on the seminar, participant Abdul Malik Gawhar said:

“This seminar changed the way I think about entrepreneurship. I realized that starting a business is not only about making a profit—it is about solving real problems in our communities. The practical guidance and discussions motivated me to begin developing my own business idea.”

The Entrepreneurship Seminar in Khost is part of AELSO’s nationwide series of scientific and practical programs aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, economic development, social welfare, and poverty reduction by equipping Afghanistan’s youth with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become the country’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
