Entrepreneurship for Youth and Students of Balkh and Samangan Provinces

The Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO), drawing from valuable experiences gained at the Entrepreneurship Camp 2023, has launched a series of practical entrepreneurship seminars across various provinces of Afghanistan, aligning with its strategic vision for a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.

The entrepreneurship seminar, organized by the AELSO in collaboration with the Nokhbagan University and The White Humanitarian Services Organization (TWHSO) in Balkh Province with the aim of introducing and identifying opportunities and utilizing existing entrepreneurial prospects for economic development, prosperity, and ending poverty.

Over 150 youths, university lecturers, leadership teams from several public and private universities, and students from various public and private universities participated in the seminar. Students from Balkh, Nokhbagan, Avicenna, Rah-e-Saadat and Samangan Universities actively engaged in the entrepreneurship seminar. Students and professors of Samangan University traveled in groups from Samangan province to Balkh province and participated in this program.

During the entrepreneurship seminar, Mohammad Hanif Farzan, the Chairman of Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO), discussed about the AELSO’s strategic vision regarding entrepreneurship and prosperity. The other speaker of the program, Dr. Syed Jawed Najafizada, chancellor of Nokhbagan University, spoke about the role of universities in promoting and institutionalizing entrepreneurship and prosperity in Afghanistan.

In the second part of the program, Abdul Qaher Beheshti, programs director of the Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO), discussed about entrepreneurship and its requirements. He presented practical solutions for entrepreneurship in Afghanistan. Further that, Wasilullah Safai, Dean of the Economy Faculty at Nokhbagan University, shared effective solutions for achieving economic development, prosperity, and poverty reduction in Afghanistan. He provided practical and update insights for the program participants.

The participants’ views and questions were addressed, and the youth were encouraged to take practical steps in entrepreneurship and poverty reduction using the strategies discussed. During the practical steps taken by the youth in entrepreneurship and poverty reduction, the Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization and its strategic partners will support the enrollment of youth into the market as new entrepreneurs. To support the economic initiatives of young entrepreneurs, the Entrepreneurship Camp 2024 will be competitively held among students from all partner universities.

In the seminar’s conclusion, Mohammad Khalilzad, Academic Vice Chancellor of Nokhbagan University, recognized entrepreneurship as a sustainable and effective process for achieving prosperity and ending poverty in Afghanistan. He urged the youth to utilize the practical and useful entrepreneurial opportunities provided by AELSO.

In the final part of the entrepreneurship seminar, the latest books from the Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization, were gifted to leadership of Nokhbagan University, Avicenna University and Samangan University, also certificates of participation were distributed to the program participants.
