The role of women entrepreneurs in the economic development of Afghanistan
Considering the pivotal role they play in societies, women entrepreneurs can be regarded as the main drivers of progress and development in a country. The involvement of women entrepreneurs in economic activities lays the groundwork for national development. Hence, it is imperative to create avenues for self-awareness, guide women’s economic and social capabilities, and strategically plan to enhance their participation in various sectors. Women assume a significantly larger role than men in household economies and domestic activities, thereby fostering economic prosperity within communities. Nevertheless, women have yet to fully realize their potential as active citizens in most countries worldwide, particularly in developing nations like Afghanistan, across economic, political, social, and cultural domains. Unfortunately, women’s contributions are often overlooked in economic assessments, relegating them to the status of an invisible workforce. The remarkably pessimistic estimations of active women and the disproportionately low figures of women’s participation in economic activities underscore the insufficient attention paid to women’s affairs, their added value, and their potential as catalysts for our nation’s development.
