The Role of Female Employment in Society Development
Women, as a part of the human resource, have the economic right to employment and earning income, a concept not contradictory to Islamic principles; indeed, Quranic verses explicitly state that women, like men, can engage in work. Therefore, women can contribute to societal development by pursuing careers just like men. However, in many underdeveloped societies, most women are occupied with household chores, spending hours working and caring for children without receiving any financial compensation. While they indirectly contribute to family economics, due to lack of education and awareness of their economic rights, they are unable to engage in external employment like men and achieve financial independence. This underscores the necessity for government support in education and women’s employment to enable them to pursue independent economic activities.
