Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO) does so by:

  • Organizing conferences, workshops and seminars on human dignity, and producing original studies in economics, law, and political science to help to guide policy makers.
  • Reviewing the legislative codes and promoting improvement of the legal system;
  • Working to achieve gender equality through political and economic empowerment of women and girls in Afghanistan in partnership with women-led and women-focused grassroot civil society organizations all around the country;
  • Producing and broadcasting of academic radio programs through Silk Road Station and other FM stations for Afghan and Persian speaking countries to spread and educate them the ideas of liberty and prosperity;
  • Working with young people to equip the next generation of Afghans to create a society of liberty, responsibility, peace, and prosperity;
  • Working with the media (including but not limited to print, broadcast, and internet) to explain the value to the entire population of mutual respect, limited government, and creation of value through production and exchange, rather than mere redistribution through violence;
  • Engaging the religious communities of Afghanistan, including scholars, clerics, and ordinary believers, in the creation of gender equality, civil peace and prosperity through promoting better understanding of the mutual advantages of markets, the rule of law, and personal freedom and responsibility;
  • Involving the wealth-creating sectors of Afghan society (e.g., farmers, traders, business-people, employees, professionals) in strengthening the legal foundations of the market economy;
  • Creating a domestic network for liberty and cooperating with regional and international networks for liberty, free trade, and peace.
