Entrepreneurship Seminar Conducted in Balkh Province
The Entrepreneurship Seminar was organized by the Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO) in collaboration with Nokhbegan University in Balkh Province. The event brought together university leadership, faculty members, students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and a number of individuals engaged in economic and business-related activities.
The seminar was designed as a scientific and practical forum aimed at promoting an entrepreneurial culture, developing practical skills, introducing economic opportunities, fostering innovation, and strengthening the role of youth in economic development and social welfare. Throughout the program, participants explored key topics including entrepreneurship requirements, small business development, economic opportunities, poverty reduction, and the role of entrepreneurship in economic growth.
During the first session, speakers discussed the role of universities in promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing the professional capacities of young people, and creating enabling environments for their active participation in economic activities. The activities, achievements, and future initiatives of the Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organization (AELSO) in the fields of entrepreneurship promotion and youth economic empowerment were also presented.
The practical presentation sessions introduced participants to the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship, the requirements for business success, methods for identifying economic opportunities, and practical steps for launching entrepreneurial ventures. Participants also received detailed information about the application and competition process for the Entrepreneurship Camp 2026. In addition, discussions focused on transforming ideas into successful businesses, highlighting the importance of innovation, strategic planning, and effective management in establishing and growing sustainable enterprises.
The “Youth Ideas” session provided participants with an opportunity to share their perspectives on entrepreneurship opportunities in Balkh Province. Discussions covered potential opportunities in agriculture, trade, small-scale industries, services, information technology, education, and other economic sectors. The session created a constructive platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and innovative solutions among young participants.
Attendees described the seminar as a valuable opportunity for learning, experience-sharing, and gaining a deeper understanding of economic opportunities. Participants emphasized that such initiatives can play a significant role in increasing motivation, strengthening self-confidence, and encouraging young people to establish innovative and sustainable businesses.
At the conclusion of the event, the key discussions and outcomes of the seminar were summarized. To further strengthen academic and institutional cooperation, a number of books were presented to the university leadership and faculty members. Certificates of participation were distributed to attendees, and the program concluded with a networking session and refreshments.
The organizers emphasized that expanding educational and promotional programs in entrepreneurship can make a significant contribution to youth empowerment, sustainable job creation, poverty reduction, and the advancement of economic development and social welfare in Afghanistan. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continuing similar initiatives across different provinces of the country to further promote entrepreneurial culture and strengthen the economic potential of the younger generation.
